the ring price......

this post is paying homage to jp and i's love of buying cheap, huge "diamond" rings......that post a few down of the big bling.........only cost $12.97.............ha ha! good ol nordstrom rack, that's where we would buy all our big cheap rings and try to pass them off as "real diamonds", and believe it or not, people believed us... a lot! at least they pretended to believe......anyways, when i was at nordstrom rack i saw that ring and died, i knew i had to have it, its too big and too gaudy to pass up! so thanks to all who voted on that ring price......but you were all off!

lily's favorite place

lil's favorite place in the whole house to lay is right smack dab on top of our pillows on our couch, everytime i walk in the house or if i cant find her i know right where to look, and then the end result of her laying there is the flat, limp picture that you see.....there is no hope for our pillows.....sigh.....

yes, i have laundry on my couch......tacky......

new restaurant

Last night, I went with some friends out to a new restaurant, and noticed that the waiter who took our order carried a spoon in his shirt pocket. It seemed a little strange. When the busboy brought our water and utensils, I noticed he also had a spoon in his shirt pocket. Then I looked around I saw that all the staff had spoons in their pockets. When the waiter came back to serve our soup I asked, "Why the spoon?" "Well," he explained, "the restaurant's owners hired a consulting firm to revamp all our processes. After several months of analysis, they concluded that the spoon was the most frequently dropped utensil. It represents a drop frequency of approximately 3 spoons per table per hour. If our personnel are better prepared, we can reduce the number of trips back to the kitchen and save 15 man-hours per shift." As luck would have it, I dropped my spoon and he was able to replace it with his spare. "I'll get another spoon next time I go to the kitchen instead of making an extra trip to get it right now." I was impressed! I also noticed that there was a string hanging out of the waiter's fly. Looking around, I noticed that all the waiters had the same string hanging from their flies. So before he walked off, I asked the waiter, "Excuse me, but can you tell me why you have that string right there?" "Oh, certainly!" Then he lowered his voice. "Not everyone is so observant... That consulting firm I mentioned also found out that we can save time in the restroom. By tying this string to the end of our "you know what," we can pull it out without touching it and eliminate the need to wash our hands, shortening the time spent in the restroom by 76.39 percent." "Hhmmm...After you get it out, how do you put it back?" I asked. "Well," he whispered, "I don't know about the others... but I use the spoon."

ha ha! that's a funny one.....can you imagine hearing that in a restaurant?

the reason for my music playlist.....

im feeling extra nostalgic today so that's why my playlist is 90% George Strait, all growing up my dad listened to George so i grew up loving him i still remember being a little little girl and me and my dad were driving around in his convertible listening to a cassette tape of "Baby Blue" and him singing along....i thought the song was written for me cause i have blue eyes and just cause my dad would sing along, that meant the song was written for me, its funny i still remember that, who knows what i was thinking....... i love the song "i can still make cheyanne", but, yes, me being the sap that i am, i bawl everytime i listen to it..... the song called "the fireman" really isn't one of my favorites but when me, my brother and sister were growing up we had an uncle who was a fireman so we thought that George Strait wrote that song about him.........little did we know, "the fireman" really ISN'T about a fireman......and we will just leave it at that.......

starving.....but not hungry enough to eat these.....

this is where my blog stalking obsession has taken me........im starving. its way past lunch time and im dying....i think cafe rio "salmon taco- with no lettuce- or cilantro- just dressing on the side- also with a side of tortilla- and no beans- just rice" is calling my name
i didn't realize it till a minute ago cause i have been too engrossed in stalking people, and reading comments that people leave me

but now im back from lunch and i ran to maverick after i ate to get some drinks for the salon (we have a daily run to maverick for drinks; we, single handedly could keep maverick in business) and while i was there i saw these......reese's whips. everyone who knows me knows how much i hate reese's, so now reese's whips???? DISGUSTING. i would rather die.

-I can't snap my fingers; i have tried and tried for YEARS and never have been able to....
-i only dated my husband for 3 weeks before we got engaged, and a total of 3 months by the time we got married.....

if any of you know about this place you will agree with me, its SO FUN! its a big makeup store, like Sephora, and they have one in utah now!!!!!! i swear i DIED when i saw it, its in riverdale before the mall across the street from the Ruby River Steak House, it has TONS of makeup and their name brand makeup (Ulta brand) is all BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!!!! seriously girls, GO, RUN to Ulta, you will love it!

the ETERNAL question.........what's for dinner???

every night this is what my husband and i ask eachother, whats for dinner? and every night i have to rack my brain as to what to make, so we should all help eachother out and swap recipes! here are a few......the girl who does my nails gave me this......its the BEST, every recipe is DEAD ON! it tastes exactly like cafe rio, they are time consuming, but worth it! these recipes make a lot! the recipe says serves around 20

Cafe Rio Pork:
pork roast (dosen't say how many pounds to use, but probably around 4 lbs)
1 bottle honey bbq sauce
1 TBS honey
1 liter of Coke

Place all ingredients in large crock pot and cook on low all night. In the morning take the roast out and leaving the juice in the crock pot, shred the roast. Then place the shredded roast back in the crock pot and leave it on low.

Cafe Rio lime rice:
in a sauce pan saute:
2 tbs butter
1 yellow onion, chopped
4 cloves minced garlic

In a large pot bring the following to a boil:
6 2/3 cups water
8 tsp chicken bullion
1/2 bunch chopped cilantro
2 tsp cumin
2 small cans diced green chilies
1 tbs lime juice
1/2 tsp salt

Add onion and garlic to boiling water.
Add 3 cups long grain rice. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 min.


Cafe Rio tomatillo Dressing: (THE BEST DRESSING EVER!!!)
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch Dressing dry mix
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup mayonnaise
1-2 tomatillos, peeled
1/2-1 clove minced garlic
1/2-1/3 bunch chopped cilantro
1/2 tsp lime juice
1/2-1 small jalapeno, seeds removed

Blend ingredients together in a blender, add additional mayo if dressing is too thin.

i swear every spare minute i get at work, which times are rare, i blog stalk. and if i find anything good i immediately text jp, b, and krid. so everyone out there if you find anything good (or the blog jackpot as we call it) let me know asap, cause i love to find good stuff!

krid's baby shower

we had a baby shower for krid on friday night at my parents house, it was so much fun! she is having a little boy, Gavin, we are so excited for her! she will be our first friend to have a baby! congrats krid! notice the pile of purses in picture #3? you might not be able to tell its a pile but, trust me, it is! all us girls love purses!!

flashback wednesday

when i was 3 years old i LOVED flintstone vitamins, my mom would have to hide them from me cause i would eat the whole bottle, except for one day she walked into the kitchen and i had found the bottle and had proceeded to eat EVERY single orange vitamin in the jar, needless to say poison control was called ASAP! they were really nervous about iron poisioning.....but i turned out ok.....

but, 21 years later i STILL LOVE flintstone vitamins! i can't buy any cause i will seriously eat them like candy!

p.s. our "champagne" isn't really anything special, its that Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cider, and EVERY mormon (especially in utah cause everyone gives out bottles of them for christmas to their neighbors) has had a few bottles of it! hey what can you do, we got to get our fix somehow.....:)

i haven't taken any pictures recently, and i know that me and all my friends are only concerned about pictures so im trying to think of something interesting to blog about and that i have a picture to go with.......so ill post these pics, one of my favorite clients has a scottie dog (like lily) and if any of you know scotties they are pretty solid dogs but my clients scottie is SOLID, like a BRICK his name is Rocky and that name is pretty fitting........

nieces and nephews

we love our nieces and nephews! my sister has a girl that is 5 and a son that is 3 and my brother and sister in law have twins that are 2 and 1/2 and caseys brother and his wife have triplets that are 2 and 1/2...............yes you read that right, we have triplets and twins in our family, they were born 4 days apart at the same hospital......and YES it makes me really nervous to have kids.....we will probably top everyone else and have quadruplets! yikes, maybe i shouldn't type that....im afraid it will jinx us.....anyways, here are some pics of them!
